PRACTICE
STAFF
There is a practice
manager and 11 reception staff, who deal with registrations, patients' appointments,
handling of medical records, repeat prescriptions and provide secretarial services
to the individual doctors. Please note: the reception desk is closed for all routine
purposes between 1.00 - 3.00pm hours daily.
Practice
Nurses
We have two practice nurses, Fiona Corcoran and
Fiona McCabe-Hughes, who are available to provide help and advice on a variety
of health issues, including contraception, travel advice and travel vaccinations.
They are specially trained to assist in the running of our asthma, diabetic, hypertension
and immunisation clinics. Additionally, individual appointments with the practice
nurses can be booked through reception.
Home
Visits
Home visits are at the discretion of the doctors.
If you are housebound or too ill to come to the surgery, please request the visit
before 10.30am. If possible, children with temperatures or rashes are best seen
in the surgery where equipment is available for tests. Inform the receptionist
who will make sure your child is kept separate from other patients. Please telephone
020 8427 1213. We regret that we cannot make visits for social reasons, eg no
transport.
Out-Of-Hours Services
The
partners of the Circle Practice have joined a co-operative of Harrow doctors called
HARMONI. This service is based at Northwick Park Hospital where you may be asked
to take yourself/your family to see a local general practitioner. For those patients
who are housebound or too ill to attend Northwick Park Surgery a visit will be
arranged at the discretion of the HARMONI doctor. Full and clear instructions
for the above service can be found on the message service when you telephone 020
8427 1213.
New Patient Registration
We
like new patients to attend for a medical check-up with one of our practice nurses
and an appointment for this purpose will be given on registration. It is also
our policy to register all members of the family.
Other
Staff And Services
There is a full complement of district
nurses and health visitors. Community psychiatric nurses also attend on a regular
basis. Community chiropody (also providing NHS treatment for certain groups of
people) is available and may be booked at the enquiries desk. A dietician and
speech therapist hold regular sessions. Our psychologist attends for one day a
week. There is also a large treatment room with full-time nursing staff, providing
shared services with the other practice in the centre.
